What is the road to our development? Artificial Intelligence! From guiding financial advisors to tracking employee productivity, AI is our future. It is, thus, a responsibility on the HR departments of hiring the right employees. These would be ready to adjust to the upcoming change.
According to Uwe Hohgrawe, “This is the age of digital transformation. Organizations, hence, need to adjust and innovate to stay competitive. And people, consequently, need to develop new skills to work with Artificial Intelligence”. He is the faculty director of analytics and enterprise intelligence at Northeastern University.
Hohgrawe collaborated with Carl Zangerl. He is the director of human resources management program at the University. Hohgrawe and Zangerl set up a symposium earlier this year. The theme was ‘Intersection of AI and Talent Strategy’. The symposium has the aim of giving information to the companies on AI. Subsequently, it also focused on how would AI be beneficial for business. AI would, obviously, need human support, and that was discussed at length. A gathering of HR managers, in addition to data scientists and consultants, was seen. The panels focused on the issues in applying specific AI projects in companies. Discussions that were held were on boosting productivity. It emphasised the importance of taking proper decisions. The panelists emphasised on understanding customers’ needs along with new business opportunities.
Two keynote speakers graced the symposium with their presence. They spoke about the impact of AI on workplaces worldwide. One of them was Kate Lazaroff-Puck, the global manager at Mckinsey & Co. It is a consulting firm which conducts research on business and management. Not only that, but they also go on to publish their findings. The other speaker was Michael Davies. He is a senior lecturer at Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Along with it, he is also the founder and the senior partner of a consulting firm, Endeavour Partners. His firm focuses on providing services to businesses to capitalise on digital advancements.
